“22 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. 23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. 25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. [James 1:22-25 NLT]”: Theres a difference between saying you love God and actually loving him. When you truly love God and have been s-aved, it’s not your nature that exists in you, but God’s. It’s not God’s nature to drink. To smoke. To lust. To fornicate. To hate one another. “For God so loved the earth that He gave His only begotten son, and whoever-so that believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.[John 3:16]” This cliche verse goes much deeper than you think. “…BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.” To believe in something means to have faith. Faith means to trust God and know that he will not fail you. Whatever you may be going through, just know God will see you through it so that you come out bigger and better than you were before. And that’s a promise. If you love God they way that He loved the earth, then the way you act, think, and things you do will be exemplified without effort. When we love God, our nature to sin habitually will become a thing of the past. Some of us think “God will always love me, no matter what I do.” I was there once. But it’s much deeper than that. We all came out of the womb into sin, into the ways of the world. Saying you love God won’t get you into heaven. Just saying. Once you declare to not be of this world in EVERY aspect of your life, that life of sin you were born into is behind you. Loving God involves your entire being, not just some parts. Going to church is not enough. Going to bible study is not enough. You have to read the Word. Not just read it but live it. Not just live it but teach others. You must be willing to give up things that are ungodly, things that don’t glorify God so that He will shower down on you with fruits of the spirit. He wants it all. He wants you. He longs for you. He’s waiting.
